It seems like everybody is doing fish oil reviews these days, as the supplements become more and more popular. However, many focus on the wrong area or do not have up-to-date information, so here are some tips on what to look for in the best omega-3 oils.

One of the priorities is purity. They need to have come from species like Hoki and Tuna from pristine waters like the southern coast of New Zealand.

Always check that they have been molecularly distilled or are pharmaceutical grade. This is a process where all the impurities like mercury are removed leaving just pure concentrated oil, so check to see if the fish oil reviews note this.

If you want to check them yourself, simple open the capsule up and smell- you should only get a faint ocean smell, nothing else. If it smells of fish too much it is low quality and if you can smell other aroma it means the producer is trying to disguise the oxidization.

Next you want to look for the amounts of DHA and EPA, the two most important omega-3 fatty acids. Most reviews will probably focus on the EPA content but recent research shows us that DHA  is by far the most important one, and responsible for most of the benefits, especially brain health and well-being.

Make sure you can clearly see the different amounts that a product contains. If they are combined together as is normally the case, then avoid the product. A minimum of 25% DHA should be present to be effective.

No fish oil reviews should ever compare price as this is no indication at all of quality, in fact the reverse seems to be true. During my research I found that many of the very expensive brands had the least DHA content (when they actually stated the amounts), so don't let price influence your decision.

If you follow these guidelines you will really not have any need for fish oil reviews, as you know exactly what to look for to get the maximum health benefits.
