While a brand like Sears fish oil may be familiar to you, it does not guarantee you a high quality omega-3 product, and while it is a good one, the results of new research show us that there are many better alternatives.

Recent studies show that of the important omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, DHA is by far the most important one, responsible for most of the health benefits. These include maintaining brain health and proper functioning, prevention of heart attacks and strokes and lowering of high blood pressure or hypertension.

The brain comprised of 60% fats, and approximately half of that fat is DHA omega 3, which illustrates the importance of it!

So the main problem I have found with Sears fish oil is it has a low levels of DHA, around 20%, and almost double that levels of EPA. This is true for most fish oils out there as it is cheaper to produce high levels of the less important EPA.

If you body needs more EPA then it can easily convert DHA into it, but not the other way round.

The product I use contains almost 50% more DHA, giving far greater health benefits and protection as well as over twice the anti-inflammatory properties. It is also the purest I have come across, as it is obtained from Tuna and Hoki fish from the pristine waters of the Southern Ocean of New Zealand.

When it comes to price, the Sears oil is $25.50 for a month's supply and you have to take four tablets a day. Compare this to my product which is $16.85 and only requires two soft gels a day. It really proves the point that a more expensive product isn’t necessarily better, and invariably is worse.
