Fish can also contain natural pollutants, like that from a volcanic eruption. So it’s essential that the oil be properly refined to remove all kinds of impurities from it. Check if your oil has been molecularly distilled and is as pure as possible.

See if the manufacturer can provide a Certificate of Analysis. This would only be available if the oil has been tested by independent laboratories and is an indication of a quality product.
