Regardless of the hundreds of different weight loss products that you can find in stores or online nowadays, they all address one of two ways for you to lose weight.•    Reduce the amount of energy(calories) you put into your body•    Increase the amount of energy(calories) your body usesMany people try to reduce the amount of food that they eat thus lowering the amount of energy they put into their body, and while this may work for a short period of time, most people find that they can't handle the decreased amount of food in their diet and start eating as much (if not more) pretty quickly thereafter.Others try speeding up their metabolism by exercising or taking weight loss supplements. Many people find this the harder of the two ways initially, but those that stick with it find they have better long term weight loss success. There's a new method out on the market today being touted as a healthy way to increase your bodies metabolism and help you to lose weight quickly.A study reported on in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that green tea extract resulted in a metabolic increase and had a noticeable impact on the breakdown of fat within the body. While some of the effects were originally theorized to be due to the caffeine content of green tea, the researchers discovered that the tea actually has properties that go beyond those that would be explained by the caffeine. The researchers found that he same amount of caffeine that was in the green tea, administered alone, failed to change energy expenditure in other studies. This led them believe that there is some interaction going on with the active ingredients of green tea that promotes increased metabolism and fat oxidation. The results found a 4% overall increase in energy expenditure within a 24 hour period that could directly be tied to the green tea extract. This 4% happened during the daytime which translates into a 35-43% increase in caloric burn during the day.
