AS Seen On a famous TV show I''m intentionally not going to give the names of the television show referenced in these unscrupulous ads for acai products but I will say that I don't think the lady would approve if she new the details. We've seen the hype on TV and the internet. The fabulous acai berry and it's ability to improve your health and aid in weight loss. I admit it. It's a grand product and some researchers now think it may even have mutagenic properties and actuall repair genetic damage to the cells. All that said, several of the merchants selling acai products are NOT all that grand. In fact, they are downright deceitful. Check the Fine Print Two of the internet sites I looked into were both visually appealing and told tearfully happy tales of how "the housewife" had used acai ( in this case Acai Burn) and magically lost 40 + pounds by using acai and a mysterious colon cleansing product. Great,I thought. Finally a simple way to be haelthier and maybe lose some weight as well. And they offer a free sample too! Well, sort of free. The Devil is in the Details Here is where we find some sneaky goings on. Free in this case seems to mean that no, it's not really free because you have to both pay shipping costs( that's reasonable) and agree to purchase the product each month. It's in their terms and conditions which is found at the very bottom of the page in very tiny print while the "Get it now" links are large and all over the page. They will send you the free (?) sample and if you don't contact them in precisely the right way then your card will be billed for a 3 month supply at 59.95 per month (YES, THATS 59,95 X 3). This will occur every 3 months unless you cancel right away. Now I ask you. Is colon cleansing something you really want to do forever? The other site was even worse. Their acai detox "free sample" would only cost you a recurring monthly fee of $87! Bottom line, acai is a great product but don't get scammed. Just do a product search on Google or Yahoo shopping and simply buy the product. Oh, and so you know, I found it at prices ranging from $13-$40 for a month's supply.
