Have you ever found yourself, in the dark scoffing a whole cheesecake on your own?  Its not even in a bowl, your eating straight out of the tub???  You can quietly put your hands down now.  Often when we are on a strict diet we deprive ourselves of all the good things in life.  I mean whats that point in living if we cant have that piece of cake, or that bar of chocolate.  So any diet that restricts your diet that much, is only going to fail, and put us back where we started.  Making sure that we can still have our favourite things in our diet, will ensure we have the will power to stop at one piece of cake.  Trying to lose weight is hard, there are so many temptations out there they really test your will power.  Its easy and convenient to eat fast food or junk food and often its cheaper as well, but all its doing is taking years off your life.  Finding the will power that is inside of you is one key way you are going to succeed in your weight loss efforts.  Trust me it will not kill you if you dont have the extra piece of cake, I know this because I have had many arguments with myself about how much I actually need that extra piece of cake. We all hate to fail, its just human nature, often when we think we have failed its easier just to give up rather than getting back on the horse and keep going.  When we are any kind of diet its natural for us to fall off the wagon, the difference between what makes us succeed or what makes us fail is the ability to get back on the wagon, accept what we have done, enjoyed it but didnt use it as an excuse to fall back into old habits.  Maintaining a positive attitude is a key to succeed in any weight loss journey.  Old habits are hard to break.  Or are they?  Low fat diets and Low Carb diets are designed to work fast, they restrict our diets so much, that they are very hard to maintain.  Often we find ourselves feeling deprived and we will fall off the wagon and never get back on.  Losing weight slowly is the only way to maintain our weight loss forever.  Find a friend? If you are struggling maybe its time to find a buddy that is also losing weight.  Its hard losing weight on your own; no matter how strong you are there will always be times of doubt, frustration and times when you want to just plain give up.  Having someone who is going through the same thing is the best way in which you can actually succeed.  Its also great to have someone to vent to or to tell you to put down that chocolate bar.
