By now everyone has heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It provides your body with the necessary nutrition for the day and it can even support your weight loss goals. Skipping breakfast often results in unhealthy snacking, fatigue, lack of focus, irritability, and weight gain (just to name a few). So as you can see, the pros clearly outweigh the cons.  Breakfast consumption is valuable to our health and well-being, but what if we could make breakfast even healthier by adding a little something extra to our morning dish.

A healthy breakfast should consist of foods that are rich in fiber and protein. Protein and fiber provide a lot of important nutrients and they also help you attain quick weight loss. Fiber is great at improving your metabolism and keeping you feeling full for hours upon hours. Something you can add to your morning oatmeal in order to increase your fiber intake is flaxseed. Flaxseed offer a lot of healthy perks, such as omega 3’s, on top of the much needed fiber. Another food that you can add to your morning breakfast is walnuts. Walnuts are also great at providing your body with omega 3 oils. However, walnuts have the added benefit of providing the body with a burst of energy and antioxidants.

Something else that you can add to your breakfast is protein powder. Protein powder is especially great for people who are trying to lose weight or rebuild muscle. For instance, if you workout the morning, adding protein powder to your oatmeal will give your body the raw ingredients it needs to rebuild muscle after a strenuous workout.  These are just a few steps you can take in order to make your breakfast even more nutritionally valuable.
