Why Carry Drinking Water Containers?

It's not a secret that men and women are built differently. Hormones change the balance between muscle and fat different, the shape and size of the bones are different as well. It's because they have different specific purposes and they adapt to different changes later on.

Testosterone, the man hormone, causes hair growth, defines the size of bones and makes voice deeper. Also, it regulates the muscle mass. Important fact (especially for those who lose weight) is that the more muscle mass body has, the faster body burns the ingested calories. This is a big difference between both genders and between obese and fit people.

Studies revealed that women gain weight easier and faster than men and it's two times harder for them to drop excess body weight than for men. You probably have noticed that men and women training side by side and doing the same routine achieve completely different results. Bad news for girls!

One more thing that makes things worse for women is obsession with skinny and extremely slim bodies. During the numerous weight loss attempts women make, their bodies learn how to hang on to the existing fat which makes every further attempt much harder. This also makes person less healthy even if she's thin.

Recently BBC published a study where 62 obese women exercised 4 hours per week and cooked healthier meals. During 3 months they lost only 9 pounds but their self-image improved tremendously. Also cholesterol levels, blood pressure and heart rates were much better. This test showed that maybe chasing after the perfect body isn't the best thing to do, that healthier and more pleased person can be happier.

To answer to the question above; men burn more fat and women must work harder to keep them in shape. Anyway, shape doesn't matter if you feel good, if you are healthy and if you like yourself.
